Biowaste Plant, Lochhead Dunfermline

Completion of the reinforced concrete elements for the construction of fermenter tanks, percolation area, slab work and tunnel heating building at the new Lochhead Biowaste Processing facility near Dunfermline for clients Luddon Construction.

The gas-tight fermenters, with 5-metre-high walls and concrete roof slabs, required ventilation and heating pipes to be cast in during construction.

The plant can process a minimum of 43,000 tonnes of green and food waste per annum and will produce heat and power whilst reducing landfill waste.
