Borders Railway

Murform are proud to be part of the Borders Railway Project for BAM Nuttall, the principal contractor for the longest new domestic railway to be constructed in Britain for over 100 years.  Murform are to construct 3 bridges and an underpass on the route between Edinburgh and Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders.  Work on the 3 bridges includes constructing cill beams onto existing masonry abutments, approach slabs, new bridge decks and then parapet walls with a Reckli formliner and offset peaking copes. The underpass is a pedestrian tunnel beneath the permanent way with approximately 50m of sloping ramps and stairs on both sides of the track.
